A catering van wrap is printed, laminated vinyl fitted over a food truck, coffee van or catering trailer to carry your brand, menu and contact details on every panel. Here at Auto Wrap Manchester we design, print and fit catering vehicle graphics in-house at our Trafford Park unit, for mobile caterers across Manchester, Cheshire and the North West.
Mobile catering is sold on sight. At a festival, a market or a trading estate at lunchtime, people pick the unit that looks established, clean and clear about what it sells. A branded vehicle does that from 50 metres away and makes the first impression before anyone reads the menu.
Vehicle wraps for catering units also work when parked up or driving between pitches. Your name, what you sell and how to book you for an event are on the road every day. As a mobile billboard, it’s the most cost-effective advertising a small food business can buy, and it builds brand awareness in the exact areas you trade.
Because it’s adhesive vinyl, it’s reversible. Change the menu, sell the vehicle or rebrand, and the graphics come off with the original paint intact.
Every unit is quoted individually, so we don’t publish a price list. The options, from smallest job to biggest:
We offer 0% finance over 3, 6 or 12 months with a low deposit, which helps when the branding is one line on a long list of start-up costs. Our guide to vehicle signage costs in the UK goes into more detail.
A Citroën Berlingo coffee van uses far less material than a long-wheelbase Sprinter or a 14ft trailer.
Lettering, part or full, and whether the roof, hatch surround and awning are included.
We print on premium vinyl from 3M, Avery Dennison, KPMF and Hexis, laminated for outdoor life.
Print-ready artwork keeps design time down. A livery designed from scratch by our design team is quoted as part of the job.
Old graphics that need removing, or a converted commercial vehicle with filler and rivets, add prep time.
Every kind of catering unit comes through the workshop:
Converted units have hatches, rivets, external sockets, gas lockers and awning rails that a standard van doesn’t. We measure and cut around all of them so every door, hatch and flap still opens once the graphics are on.
Most catering van graphics fail for the same reason: too much on the panel and nothing readable from across a field. What works, from the food vehicles we’ve fitted since 2014:
Your name, what you sell in three words, one great food photo and the menu, all read while queuing.
Logo, one-line offer, phone number and social handle, big enough to read from the car behind.
Permanent brand on the vehicle, prices on a separate panel or chalkboard, so changes need no new wrap.
Weddings, corporate lunches and festivals are booked by people who saw the unit out working.
Catering vehicles have a hard life. They sit in full sun at summer events, get hosed down at the end of a shift and pick up grease near the hatch. Cast vinyl from 3M, Avery Dennison, KPMF and Hexis, printed in-house and laminated, is what keeps the colours from fading and gives a professional finish that’s built to last.
With proper care, laminated graphics last 5 to 7 years or more. Every job includes a 12-month workmanship warranty, and full wraps can be extended to up to 3 years with our Bronze, Silver and Gold warranty packages.
If you’ve got a launch date or a first festival booked, tell us when you get in touch and we’ll plan around it. Spring and early summer are our busiest weeks for catering units.
Send the make and model, a photo of each side and any artwork. We come back with a price and a lead time.
Livery designed in-house or checked from your print-ready files. You sign off a flat proof of every side.
Printed on premium cast vinyl and laminated for outdoor life, all at the Trafford Park unit.
Arrive clean and degreased around the hatch, we prep the panels, fit, inspect and hand back. Full coverage typically takes 2 to 5 days.
Our fleet signage service keeps the vehicle livery consistent across different sizes, and a modular wrap lets you swap a damaged panel rather than redo a whole side. For plain lettering on a new van, see van signage. If the unit is out at festivals and sampling tours rather than a regular pitch, see event vehicle branding.
Design, print and installation all happen in-house at our Trafford Park unit, the same way we have worked since 2014.
Design, print and installation under one roof at Trafford Park, with no handover between suppliers.
More than a decade of wraps, signage and PPF for private and commercial customers across the North West.
We print on cast vinyl from 3M, Avery Dennison, KPMF and Hexis, laminated for outdoor life.
A 12-month workmanship warranty as standard, extendable to up to 3 years on full wraps.
Spread the cost over 3, 6 or 12 months with a low deposit through our finance option.
Every unit is priced individually. Coverage sets the bracket (lettering costs the least, a full wrap the most), then size, material and design work move the figure. Trailers are quoted on size. Send the model and a photo of each side for a firm price.
The branding advertises the business every day it’s out for 5 years or more and makes the unit look established from day one. Against pitch fees, event fees and the cost of a single lost booking, it’s one of the most cost-effective forms of marketing a mobile caterer has.
Only if the main colour changes. Graphics and lettering on the original paint colour don’t need reporting. A full colour change does, and it’s a free update to the V5C through DVLA’s change of vehicle details service. Tell your insurer too.
Five to seven years or more with laminated cast vinyl and proper care. Hand wash, avoid jet washing at close range near the edges, and keep grease off the film around the hatch.
Yes. Quality cast vinyl comes off cleanly with heat and leaves the original paint behind. We remove old graphics as part of a rebrand.
Yes. Send a logo and a rough idea, or a full print-ready file if you have a designer. Either way you approve a flat proof before anything is printed.
