Range Rovers are one of the cars we wrap most often at Auto Wrap Manchester, and satin black is the finish most owners walk in asking for. This guide covers what works on a Range Rover, what it costs, and what a real full wrap from our Trafford Park unit looks like.
Why Range Rovers wrap so well
Big, flat panels and clean body lines make a Range Rover a strong candidate for vinyl. There’s a lot of surface for a satin or matte finish to show off on, and fewer tight curves than a sports car, so the film sits evenly and the finish looks consistent from every angle.
The other reason is money. Factory satin or matte paint on a large SUV is expensive to buy and to keep looking right. A wrap gets you the same look for less, and it comes off again when you sell or hand the car back.
What Range Rover owners ask us for
Satin black full wrap
The most popular request by a distance. Satin black takes the shine off the panels without going fully flat, hides light swirls, and works on the Sport, the Velar, the Evoque and the full-size car alike.
Matte and other finishes
Matte greys, satin greys and deep greens all suit the car. The Ineos Grenadier we wrapped in Basalt Grey this year and the BMW iX in Racing Green show how well muted, solid colours sit on a big body. Our wrap colour and finish guide walks through gloss, satin, matte, chrome and colour-flip options.
Dechrome and black pack
Blacking out the grille surround, window trims, badges and lower trim is the quickest way to change how a Range Rover looks, and it’s often done on its own without a full colour change. See our vehicle dechrome service.
Roof wrap
A gloss black roof wrap gives a contrast roof on cars that didn’t come with one from the factory, and it pairs well with a dechrome.
PPF on the front end
Range Rovers cover miles, and the bonnet, bumper, wings and mirrors take the stone chips. A lot of owners add paint protection film to the front end, either on the original paint or over a fresh wrap.
Our satin black Range Rover Sport full wrap
In 2026 we did a full colour change on a Range Rover Sport in satin black. Every exterior panel was wrapped, so the finish is consistent across the bonnet, doors, tailgate and bumpers with no factory paint showing. It’s the job we show people who want to see what satin black looks like on the car in the flesh.
How much does it cost to wrap a Range Rover?
Full wraps on an SUV like a Range Rover start from £2,750+VAT. A Range Rover is a large vehicle with a lot of surface area, so the final price depends on the model and the film.

Leased or financed? A wrap is reversible
Plenty of Range Rovers on the road are on a lease or PCP, and a wrap is the sensible way to change the colour on one. The film comes off at the end of the agreement and the car goes back in its original paint, with that paint in better condition than it would have been without the wrap.
The same logic applies if you own the car and care about resale. A respray in a non-original colour has to be declared on the V5C and can narrow the pool of buyers. A wrap protects the factory paint and can be removed before sale. We cover this in more depth in car wrap vs respray.
Looking after a satin or matte wrap
Satin and matte finishes need slightly different care to gloss. Hand wash, avoid polish and wax (they’ll leave shiny patches), and keep it away from automatic brush car washes. With proper care, quality gloss, satin and matte vinyl lasts 5 to 7+ years. Our aftercare guide has the full routine.
How long does it take?
A full Range Rover wrap typically takes 2 to 5 days in our unit. We follow the same five stages on every car: clean, prep and inspect; measure and pre-cut; fit the vinyl; final inspection; hand-over. Please bring the car in clean so we can start on prep straight away. Every full wrap includes a 12-month workmanship warranty, extendable up to 3 years with our warranty packages.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to wrap a Range Rover in satin black?
Full wraps on an SUV like a Range Rover start from £2,750+VAT, and the final price depends on the model and the film. Send us the model and we’ll give you a fixed price.
Can you wrap a Range Rover Sport?
Yes. We completed a full satin black wrap on a Range Rover Sport in 2026, and the Sport, Velar, Evoque and full-size Range Rover all wrap well thanks to their large, clean panels.
Will a wrap damage my Range Rover’s paint?
No. A professionally fitted and removed wrap protects the paint from chips, scratches and UV. It’s only a problem if the paint underneath was already failing, which we check for before we start.
Can I wrap a leased Range Rover?
Yes. Because a wrap is reversible, the car can go back in its original colour at the end of the agreement. Check your lease terms and tell your insurer about the modification.
Should I get PPF or a wrap on my Range Rover?
If you want a colour change, a wrap. If you want to keep the factory colour and stop stone chips, PPF. Many owners do both: a wrap for the look and PPF over the front end for protection. Our PPF vs ceramic coating post explains the protection options.
